NOPA-BSA Standards (OPIDS)
In December 2006, NOPA and OPWA jointly launched the OPIDS initiative. The project’s initial objective was to develop consistent industry product data identification standards that the independent channel could implement in the 2007 general office product catalogs.
A second phase goal was to establish an industry forum, process and annual cycle for ongoing standardization. In addition, NOPA and OPWA are jointly communicating at appropriate intervals to interested industry groups (principally dealers, manufacturers, technology vendors and wholesalers) about the initiative and its progress.
